Horner’s lesson: Don’t let dyslexia derail your dreams

“Jack Horner served as the technical advisor to the endlessly lucrative “Jurassic Park” and “World” movies, as well as the inspiration for the main character. For heaven’s sake, he even has the distinction of naming a dinosaur, Maisaura, a friendly, plant-eating creature that would have made a neat pet if not for the fact that it grew to 30 feet long. Horner also suffered from dyslexia, a disorder that made it difficult for him to read. Yet, Horner, who will be the guest speaker at the Bright Stars Event sponsored by the Reading Center in Rochester on Nov. 8, doesn’t see his achievements as a form of overcoming. He sees it as taking a different route.”
